SMS Consent and Opt-In
How home-service businesses on Laddr collect permission before any text message is sent, what recipients agree to, and how to opt out.
Laddr, operated by LADDR LLC (formerly FixR Solutions LLC), is an appointment and review-management platform used by home-service businesses such as plumbing, HVAC, and electrical companies. Through Laddr, a business can send text messages to its own customers: appointment updates and a review request after a completed appointment. This page is the published consent standard for that SMS program. It shows the exact opt-in language customers see, the verbal opt-in script used on booking calls, how consent is recorded, and how any recipient can stop messages at any time.
01
About the SMS program
Messages are sent by Laddr on behalf of the specific home-service business the recipient hired. Every message identifies that business by name and includes opt-out instructions.
Two message types are sent:
- Appointment updates related to a service the recipient booked, such as confirmations and follow-ups.
- A review request after the recipient's appointment is completed.
These are transactional follow-ups to a service the recipient purchased. Laddr does not send cold outreach and does not use marketing lists or purchased contact lists. Message frequency varies with the recipient's appointments. Message and data rates may apply.
02
Online opt-in (booking and intake forms)
When a customer books an appointment through an online booking or intake form powered by Laddr on a business's website, the customer enters their mobile number and must check a consent box. The box is unchecked by default. The consent language reads:
- "I agree to receive appointment updates and review requests from [Business Name] via Laddr. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out."
[Business Name] is replaced with the name of the business the customer is booking with. Checking the box is not a condition of purchasing any service. A customer who leaves the box unchecked can still book and receives no text messages.
03
Verbal opt-in (phone bookings)
When a customer books by phone, the receptionist or the business's Laddr-powered assistant asks for permission before the number is enrolled. The script is:
- "May we text you appointment updates and a follow-up review link at this number? Message and data rates may apply, and you can reply STOP at any time to stop the messages."
The customer must answer yes before the number is enrolled. A no, or no answer, means the number is not enrolled and no messages are sent. Agreeing to texts is not a condition of purchasing any service.
04
How consent is recorded
Each opt-in is logged in Laddr against the specific phone number, with a timestamp, the business it applies to, and the opt-in method (form or verbal).
05
Opting out and getting help
Any recipient can stop messages at any time by replying STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, QUIT, CANCEL, or END to any message. Replying STOP stops all further messages from that business through Laddr. The opt-out takes effect immediately and is honoured indefinitely unless the recipient opts in again. To stop messages from another business, reply STOP to that business's message.
Replying HELP returns help information and a contact address. Recipients can also contact us at privacy@useladdr.com to be removed.
06
No sale or sharing of mobile information
No mobile information, including phone numbers and text-messaging opt-in consent, is sold or shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile opt-in data is shared only with the messaging subprocessors that transmit messages on our behalf, solely to deliver the messages the recipient consented to receive. See our Privacy Policy at useladdr.com/privacy-policy for full details.
